Since the day i joined RP, I felt that my life has changed quite a bit. Especially in my christian walk. Questions came flooding in from my classmates and at some point in time, I also felt like backsliding. Then came crusade...it sort of pulled me back. Just 2 days ago, I played the guitar for crusade's worship and I really felt the love and care in that place.
I was stressed and nervous, but the crusaders encouraged me to press on. It was not exactly very good guitar playing but I think I managed to pull through. All by the grace of God. Looking back, I actually enjoyed the experience but I don't think I wanna do it again anythime soon.
My walk with God may be back on track but my leadership in the youth ministry is still a big question mark for now.

Parable of the Carrot, Egg, and Coffee
Hi guys, someone encouraged me with this when i was feeling quite down. Enjoy it and remember it.
A fresh graduate went to her mother when she was facing a stressful period of her working life and this is what her mother did. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil.
In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.
The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?" Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity--boiling water--but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
Which are you? When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?" Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean?
The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you can get better and change the situation around you with God's help. How do you handle adversity? When adversity strikes, ask yourself...ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?

GOD will never leave you EMPTY, he will REPLACE everything you've LOST.If he asks you to put something DOWN, it's because HE wants YOU to PICK-UPsomething GREATER :-)
** When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God isall you need **
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.Happy moments, praise God.Difficult moments, seek God.Quiet moments, worship God.Painful moments, trust God.Every moment, thank God.

Prayer for Crusaders'
Dear God,
as i come before You, i thank You for the willing hearts of the crusaders' who hav just left for their mission trip. i pray that they will be covered by Your blood, that Your peace and protection will be with them where ever they go, that they will not feel lonely or lost. I also pray for sensitivity and wisdom that they may hear Your directions for them during the mission trips, and know what to share with the people they meet. I pray that You will guide and show them the way that Your will may be done during this mission trip. May they continue to seek Your face and trust in You no matter how difficult the circumstances.
May we(those in S'pore) continue to uphold them in prayer that Your will be done and that the evil one will not interfere with the good work You have sent Your people to do.
Amen

Stop running?? u gotta be kidding me
Firstly, my deepest sympathy to the family of triathlete Thaddeus Cheong. He had a passion for the sport he loves and u guys were supportive of him. U guys certainly had a part 2 play 4 his success.
Similarly, i hav a passion for adv racing, a similar sport. After news of Thaddeus' death broke, many ppl hav been telling me 2 cut down or at least slow down on my training for the coming race meet. I sincerely appreciate the advice of all those around who love me and thank you for your advice. However, i cannot see myself stop running or sitting out during the race. i will still continue to pursue my passion but rest assured, i will know my limits and and watch myself for signs of overstrain. be assured that i will stop when i know i cant take it. :) i hope u guys will understand my passion and put ur trust in God that He will only take me home when my time has come. :)
