Adventure Learning Centre (ALC) Commissioning!!!!

Woohoo!!! Today was a very eventful day for me. And it is all due to one event - the commissioning of the ALC. I don't know why but I feel a sense of adreline rush whenever I look at the ALC, much more when I step inside and get to try it out!
But, the rain did dampen the rush - by a lot. The rugby team was trying out the high element first so all we did was abseil and be rope-man for the fireman's belay. It was fun, but I did yearn to do the high elements. Just before the rugby guys finished, the rain came! (Thk God the commissioning was over)
Well..but we WILL get to try out the ALC somewhere in October, although I don't know when. Maybe I'll be able to book it for AR training as well :D who knows?
The moon looked pretty nice today. And before that, I was treated to a B-E-A-U-tiful sunset..and I snapped shots of it (thks mummy for allowing me to keep my darling in your office) :)
Oh ya..Praying you will get well soon mummy. Maybe it's God's way of giving you rest. Don't be too disappointed about being here today k. Just concentrate on getting well and coming back for trainings and R&R's ya. Planning one BBQ or something and since you suggested it, I need your input :P. Hope to see you soon :)

Time to think

Recently, I've been spending a bit of time out with my camera mostly at the beach, park or somewhere quiet. While waiting for the inspiration to come, I will start to think. And recently, I have been thinking a lot..maybe too much. Suddenly, I'm starting to reconsider the things and people in my life; the ways they have impacted me and changed my life and my relationship with them. Man..whoever said life was easy.
Maybe its cause i'm thinking too deeply and complicating matters...I should just be my age and enjoy the joys of being 16 going on 17 :D.
Yeah!! That's just what i'm gonna do!
Meanwhile, enjoy these 2 pics i took; one at the beach and the other from my room window(a bit too much noise though..sorry)

Time with my camera

Hello all,

I've had my camera for about 2 months now but i haven't really been out to snap pictures. So yesterday, i thought why not try snapping the sunset. Didnt really get the sunset but i did manage to get a few interesting ones. Please pardon the lack of professionalism of photos because i'm still learning and i'm not having a lot of practice these days. Sorry..meanwhile, try to enjoy.

Cheers

First day of school -- Sick

Haiz..yesterday was a very bad start to Day 1 of Semester 2. All was well initially until i got mild food poisoning(i think) from my lunch. It start off feeling queasy and i thought that it would go away once i stood up and got my blood circulating. But I was very wrong. We were the first group to present and i thought i could pull through so i presented on the board. Whoever expected me to suddenly feel faint and had to sit on the floor throughout the rest of the presentation. And mind you, this took place while the faci was clueless about what was happening an did NOT bother to ask at all! My group had to carry on presenting without me and I think I owe them an apology. Sorry. I think i'm gonna get a very very BAD grade for my very first lesson.
Today, i'm skipping school cos i don't feel up to it yet so i'll just stay at home and do what i don't know. Stone and stare at the ceiling? I really dunno man.

SAFRA AVVentura - The Coastal Challenge (090907)

Hey hey...hello there. Long time no see. Actually..its cos i've been going for camps and and training hard for the SAFRA AVVentura- The Coastal Challenge. This is an annual adventure race and woah..it did take my breath away.
We started of at Tampines SAFRA and ran a very long run all the way to Pasir Ris beach. On the way, we passed, Tampines Ave 10, SCDF HQ and tampines mt. bike trail. After dat, we hit the park connector and ran all e way to Downtown East and in to Pasir Ris beach. There, we colleceted our bikes and biked on the beach(it was so tough) and into the forest for some dirt/trail biking. We ended up at Pasir Ris Farmway and followed a drain/ canal all the way to another part of dirt/trail biking. We then reached the river seperating SengKang Punggol and Pasir Ris. There, the bottle neck was so long...it took abt 1hr 30mins to clear.
We tied our bikes to the tubes and swam across the river to Punggol Beach area and biked through a lot of sand and lalang and sharp plants..Ouch. There was a checkpoint somewhere along the way and it was navigation...haiz..imagine bashing through all the sharp and pokey plants. But still, we found all the checkpoints and passed that station. After a long time of biking, we arrived at Punggol End and dropped off our bikes. It was time for archery and I was the one doing it. First shot was off but the next 3 shots got me a pass. =) After that, it was just running all the way to Marina Country Cub. There, we got on our kayaks and paddled 8km to Yishun in strong currents. 1hr 10mins later, we arrived at Yishun and ran to Yishun SAFRA. Along the way, i met many NVSS volunteers who directed the way to SAFRA. At SAFRA, we had to do juma + rock climb at the same time and when both of us were up, we had to abseil down and then run to the finish point. I am proud to say, i did all these in 8hrs+.
Not sure of my standing but I COMPLETED THE RACE!!!

Humans are like tea leaves. You have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are.

I realised i havent blogged for weeks and so i shall revive by stating this quote i read from somewhere. i have just come back from camp and i am too tired to blog a long one. BUT...stay tuned for more news on the camp and the upcoming SAFRA AVVentura adventure race.
